The Ama Deus Shaman Healing System
by Michael Arvey
Ama Deus is a Portugese words that signifies, "I Love God." It was given to this system as the originators did not have a written language, and Portugese is a central language in Brazil. As such, it is a fitting descriptor, as the system is an energy-based healing work that utilizes the love of God and a series of imprints, or images, as vehicles for the work to transpire. Ama Deus is a sacred healing modality-that is to say, it requires a heartfelt commitment to its usage, and a short and simple oath of honoring its roots is taken before the attunement to this shamanistic avenue.

Ama Deus differs from traditional shamanistic healing ways of visualization and meditations used to travel through layers of realities and worlds. However, like some healing systems that use symbols, so does Ama Deus. But these are more like imprints, and they have no names or color or elaborate means of using them. They are multidimensional, and are much more specific and broad in their usage, than say, for example, the reiki systems. Moreover, Ama Deus can be applied remotely from around the world. Most of the work is through the third eye, but there is hands on work as well. One is simply a channel for God's love, which is why this is a heart-based energy system. The healing energy is projected through intent and attunement with the energies of God and the imprints. Each of the imprints has a specific application.

This system derives from the rainforest Indians of Brazil, the Guaranis (Guar-an-nes). It was brought north by Alberto Aguas, who, according to the teacher I had, was the interpreter of this method. Mr. Aguas hailed from a family of medical doctor in brazil. for many generation his family lived and worked among the primitave Guaranis tribe, administering medical aid. the Guaranis, however, had their tribal shamans, who the Aguas family came to know well. The shamans and the doctors developed a mutual respect for one another over a period of time. the tribal shamans unveiled some of their secrets and passed these along. Alberto Aguas was a recipient of the the knowledge and wasy of these shamen, and used their methods, when appropriate. He used this system throughout his life. When he came north, he passed the system along to my teacher. Alberto Aguas is no longer alive, but may serve as a healing guide and helper through this work.

According to my teacher, the sacred bird of teh Amazon, the Irapuru, is an animal ally and spiritual guide, influencing the Ama Deus methods even today, and this certainly follows traditional shamanistic knowledge.

The Ama Deus system is both simple and beautiful, and requires activation, or initiation, before it can be used. I love teaching it, and I love the variety of healing issues it addresses, and the oddly, almost scribbled, constructed imprints. One, for instance, is used to rescue a dying person, to help them in their choice to live or die from a higher perspective. Another is used to help release earthbound souls and send them toward the light. Ama Deus can be used for healing of people, animals and birds. It can be used for healing oneself. It can be used on newborn babies, helping them ground and anchor into the physical body as they make their transition into the third dimension. It can be meditated with on one's birthday or someone else's-for clarity and balance. Another imprint may be used on world situations and leaders in important cases-and in this day and age, this is a boon that lightworkers can add to their bag of healing tools that may affect the decisions and outcomes of the world's rulers, which will affect everyone (and all life on the planet, in some situations, as we know). Another may be used to interact with and coax the dreamstate into revealing information we may need to know. Hearwork is included in this system, for one's self and for others-another boon, perhaps, in societies with low heart expansion. The energy can also be used to visit a friend. In all, there are twenty-five fascinating imprints for various multidimensional projections. there is also another level with a master imprint for practicing hands-on healing.

Ama Deus is not a lot of intellectualizing and explaining. It's a direct experience, a connection with a very sweet energy, with a dynamic series of imprints and healings. The energetic rapport here resides on the level of the heart, and teh ego must be left outside the door with the rest of the boots and shoes. Let go of the outcome, and let God. We're just bystanders in this particular drama, more like the stage crew adjusting props for each new scene.

And that is how it should be.

Ama Deus
